My Classroom Website

Hello families of Mrs. Trudnowski’s second grade All-Stars!

My name is Leni Neumaier and I am a Student Teacher in your child’s second grade classroom. Currently, I am a student in the Seattle University Masters in Teaching program. I will be in the classroom Thursdays through March 18th and will then join the class daily until June 9th, 2010.

Below are the activities we will be working on over the next few months:

  • In March and April we will be studying the rainforests.

  • Following the rainforests unit, your children will be working on a service learning project about saving the earth. Please check back here to learn more about this project as it progresses.

  • During April and May, we will also be working on a data gathering unit that is related to our service learning project.

  • In May we will be learning about poetry through a friendship themed literacy unit.

Also, I hope you and your child take advantage of some of the online resources that will help reinforce and extend the classroom experience.

I first had the pleasure of visiting your child’s class in September of 2009 and am excited to return for my internship. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and share a little bit about why I am so excited to become a teacher. I have always loved working with children and am constantly inspired by their bright and insightful nature. I can’t imagine a better way to spend my life than helping children learn the tools to define their futures!

I have really enjoyed getting to know your children and I look forward to meeting each of you over the next few months. I feel that communication with students’ families is very important, so if you have any questions or comments please feel free to contact me.

Sincerely,

Leni Neumaier (AKA "Miss Leni")
